Producer Series: Paul White

Paul White is a London-based producer I came across recently while listening to Flying Lotus. White infuses all these eclectic elements such as hip hop, psychedelia, synthesizers, and symphonic sounds. The kind of beats he makes is something I’d imagine for some epic saga film like Troy or some gangster bad-ass film like if there was  remake of Scarface and at the same time he’ll have you listen to more mellow music you can listen to during a good workout or just lounging around. He is that eclectic. Also the great thing is he offers few tracks for free to download so you get a taste of his music before you can purchase it, and trust me you’ll definitely want to purchase! Check out his music here.

The Gossip

The Gossip is a trio experimental punk rock band formed in Washington and now based out of Portland. They have traveled many many places with three, and now going on four, solid albums added to their resume. The lead vocalist is Beth Dito. She is one fierce looking woman with a whole lotta soul in her voice. They’ve managed to catch the legendary Rick Rubin’s support and landed opportunity to play during Karl Lagerfield’s private Fendi party. I love groups who aren’t afraid to try different meshing different genres and have some pretty interesting personal stories to bring to the table (make sure you check out the links so you can see what I mean). Take a listen to their music here , check out the videos below, and let me know what you think.

Ladyhawke

First came across this artist off of Lastfm….which I’ve started using because imeem sucks at life and has decided to link up with myspace. And I put La Roux in and it led me to discover so many deliciously exciting artists. One of which was Ladyhawke. The name alone was intriguing but then I listened to her music and decided she was one artist I’d keep up on from now on. So here is few videos of hers you should check so you see what I am talking about and let me know what you think!
